It’s spring

This past week, while showing a million+ dollar home, I happened across a juvenile diamondback who had found his way into the prospective home.
While I’m glad no one was hurt, my happening across him was fortunate timing on my part, as it gave both myself and my clients pause to consider what needed to be done to protect their family and a learning experience for me to help me know suggestions for clients to avoid snakes in and around their homes.
Yesterday I called a pest control specialist who said mothballs and sulphur were the answer, but on investigating this solution, I found it was more likely to chase off your neighbors than snakes.

That being said, I did find a very informative site that gave plant selections for your flower bed that were natural deterrents as well as a solution that can be made at home to help.

I would rather share the site than to share bits of it, as there is a lot to be gleaned from it and I don’t want to limit anyone to my interpretation of it.

If this helps even one person it will have been worth the share. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

I thought it was just our road…

But as I’m reading down the pertinent news articles, I see that the recycle pick-up has gotten behind pretty much Frisco wide.

For nearly 3 weeks now there has been a hiccup of sorts in the pick up of recyclables…and when you’re in a town that pushes recycling the way Frisco does, trust me, it’s noticeable!!

Seems the root of the problem exists at CWD (community waste disposal) and that it’s a shortage of man power. So if you know of anyone who might be out of work and qualified (pretty sure you’d need CDL or similar) I’d be giving those friends a call!

Frisco is looking currently to switch from CWD to PWS (progressive waste solutions) but not because of this issue, the change was in the works prior to the current hiccup in the system.

Here’s hoping things get back to normal soon!

First blog

As I sit pondering my first blog and it’s possible audience, I struggle to know what my first topic should be. So I will begin by introducing myself.
My name is Amanda Wao, I am a Realtor with Waller Group Properties. I am closing in on finishing my first year as a realtor, and although it’s been a slow and rocky start, there is so much about this career path that excites me.
I am a mother of four wonderful kids. My oldest graduates high school a week from tomorrow. They are one of my driving forces in life.
Some of my passions and interests in life are my God, art, nature, photography, horses and the ocean. (Besides God, the rest fall in no particular order)
This Saturday, I will be taking on a new endeavor. I will be training as a volunteer at Manegait, who does equine therapy to assist the disabled. (Gives those who cannot walk the feel of walking, thereby increasing their well being.)
Tomorrow’s blog will hopefully be a little more interesting…until then, I hope you have a wonderful day.
